I have recently become obsessed with Lana Del Ray. If you don't like her, seriously, don't read this post.
After hearing her music, I watched her music videos and generally spent a lot of time looking at her face on the internet. Mostly, I wanna marry her. She has great style and a beautiful voice. What struck me most, howevs, was the perfectness of her whole *vibe*. The 60's-Girl-From-The-Future is just perfect, along with the fabulous way she melts Americana into, like, everything. It makes me feel (finally) that America has this gorgeous culture, which is always something I thought America was lacking. You guys probably knew about this already.
Anyway, this/her/everything inspired a few outfits. Yes, I said A FEW. I'm mostly gonna focus on 3 of her songs plus other stuff of goodness from her.
In the beginning she's all cute and Marilyn Monroe sexy. I'm in love with it.
I like to think this is actually what the President's parties are like.
this is mostly the whole entire video I had to make it into one big picture because ALL OF IT IS SO PRETTY OMG.
Then then then there was Diet Mountain Dew, which doesn't have a totally amazing video but I decided to dress like it anyway because it's cute and I like the song etc.
"Baby put on heart-shaped sunglasses 'cause we're gonna take a ride..."
Ride goes off on the whole American bit but makes is so much more... I don't know. Grimy? In the best way possible, I assure you.

| Taylor Swift kind of tried to do the same theme but less cool and I was like "lol you tried honey" |
I modeled my outfit off the blue and red one up there since I have kind of the same romper.
I also tried out my hobo jacket to make it look more interesting and traveler-y.
Summertime Sadness is also just really, really pretty.
Then there are some random stills from random places, all enveloping her general goodness and summer-ish-ness, which I love.
From Blue Jeans
from Carmen
Random stuff from Video Games
Also she did a thing with H&M and she was their model for FW2012, so her video for that is pretty squeal-worthy too. She makes things less 50's summer and more of a creepy 50's deadpan thing. Apparently David Lynch said he liked it, which is possibly the best compliment you can ever receive.
